| Responding to the Crisis in Haiti |
![]() |
As we learn about the destruction in Haiti following the earthquake, our hearts go out to the Haitians and response teams working there. Harvester is collecting money to be used for relief work through several direct connections to Haiti. We will be able to get the money into the hands of those in Haiti within days. We will continue to collect for the next several weeks and will send the money on to Haiti as soon as we get it.
If you would like to donate, please make your checks payable to Harvester Christian Church and include HAITI in the memo line. A collection box is located in the Community Lobby.
Please pray for the groups who are working to help Haiti during this tragic time and for those in the U.S. who have loved ones who have been affected.
Your donations will be distributed in the following ways:
| 1 | Carl and Carol Vorst (members of South Campus) lead the House of Hope orphanage (www.AHBZ.org) in Haiti. Although everyone in their orphanage survived, they experienced damage to their building, and there was damage in the nearby area and the homes of the workers. The Vorsts will be returning to Haiti as soon as possible. |

| 3 | Fern Creek Christian Church in Louisville, KY This church is in contact with a network of volunteer Christian doctors who have been traveling to Haiti for years to operate clinics in the country. These doctors have already received approval to come to Haiti and have transportation arranged to fly there on February 1. Donations will help fund costs of shipping/collecting supplies to accompany the team. You can help in this effort by donating supplies NEXT WEEKEND (January 23/24). Harvester will package the supplies into duffle bags and transport them to Kentucky on Monday, January 25. These invaluable supplies will be on their way to Haiti on February 1 with the team of physicians. |
